What is Eurobeat?
Eurobeat refers to two styles of dance music that have their origins in Europe. They include:
The Italian Eurodisco-influenced British dance-pop (which sold only in Japan), and the hi-NRG (or high energy) Italo disco.
Eurobeat is typically recognized by its high amount of BPM, electronic feeling, and fast synth hooks. Eurobeat has a large fan base all around the world, but especially in Japan where it gained most of its success.
History of Eurobeat
Eurobeat began in the 1980’s known originally as italodance, and by the late 80’s and early 90’s a new compilation of pure Eurobeat music called Super Eurobeat emerged.
Throughout the 90’s, the genre became very popular as a result of the popularity of dance games such as ParaParaParadise and DanceDanceRevolution.
The Eurobeat and Super Eurobeat genres are can be heard as part of the anime Initial D soundtrack.. Some popular songs associated with the anime include "Deja Vu", "Running in the 90s", "Gas Gas Gas", and "Don't Stop the Music".
