PLUR stands for Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect. It is a set of principles that is associated with rave culture, originating in the United States. PLUR is an aggregation of ideas that were part of the earlier hippie and peace movement ("peace", "love") and black and hip hop culture ("respect"). Specific use of the term dates to the early 1990s rave scene. One of the most influential uses of the term was made by DJ Frankie Bones in June 1993.
PLUR is often used as a mantra or a way of life by ravers and other people who want to create a more positive and inclusive world. It is a reminder that we are all connected and that we should treat each other with kindness and respect.
The four principles of PLUR are:
Peace: This means promoting peace and understanding between people, regardless of their differences.
Love: This means showing love and compassion for others, regardless of who they are or what they believe.
Unity: This means coming together as a community and working together for a common good.
Respect: This means treating others with respect, regardless of their race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
PLUR is a powerful reminder that we can all make a difference in the world by spreading peace, love, unity, and respect.
